Smart Window is a wsbp engineering  invention the represent a  modular solution and great versatility  concept of Demand controlled ventilation , enabling the strategies for the  hybrid ventilation concept that WSBP present one the market.This hybrid solution ensure  independently and automatically renewal of air in each compartment where it is installed in buildings or residential services.

The proposed system consists of a window (‘smart window’) equipped with an actuator and provided with one or more fans built into the respective frames.

Lets implement a strategy of controlled ventilation by needs, ie by the effective occupation and activities in space considered. The regulatory system can be achieved in two ways:

— Via an adjustable timer, which takes into account the time and type of use of the room;
— Through a sensor or sensor network of carbon dioxide, which allows indirect measurement of the need for new air flow to ensure the dilution of pollutants. This sensor answers depending on the concentration of CO2 in the air inside the building, resulting primarily from metabolic activity of the occupants, and its emission rate depends on the intensity of physical activity and body mass.

Based on information available at each moment – the concentration of carbon dioxide in indoor air and its target value and other signals linked to variables influenced by the occupation of the room (noise level permissible luminance signals of presence sensors etc.). – the system is able to choose and adjust the ventilation strategy be adopted:

— Natural ventilation: the actuator can adjust the opening of the windows (if supported by data provided by a small meteorological station), taking advantage of differences in the distribution of surface pressure in the building for admitting outside air or extract air inside;
— Mechanical ventilation: the fan speed controllable and driven by an electric motor, force the renewal of the indoor air blowing or drawing air from the compartment;
— Hybrid ventilation: corresponds to the simultaneous use of two previous strategies.

The novelty is the inclusion presented in one piece, immediately apply an appropriate range, the window actuator, fans, of eventual filtering and adjustment of air flow and also the system controller, ensuring ventilation an internal compartment, independently of the conduct of its occupants and manual as required
